Our client are one of the UK largest combined media groups with officed in Central London. They are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to join their busy team for a 12 month FTC initally

Payroll Analyst

Your Role…

As a Payroll Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient management of UK in-house payroll processes. You will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation while maintaining precision in calculations and audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate payroll records within the in-house payroll system.
  • Process start-to-finish UK monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in calculations, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and cost reports for the Finance department.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to support payroll audits.
  • Manage year-end tasks including yearend adjustments, payslip reversals, and reworks.
  • Review and support Auto-Enrolment (AE) processes, including pension enrolments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments across 22 monthly payrolls (5,500 employees) and one bi-weekly payroll (10 employees).
  • Support the approval process for monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with internal protocols.
  • Assist in annual payroll tasks such as P11D submissions.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in payroll functions managing multiple payrolls.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume payrolls with a strong focus on accuracy, audits, and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory regulations.
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, acting as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
  • Knowledge of Auto-Enrolment (AE) processes and pension regulations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage payroll data effectively.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Job Retention Scheme regulations.
  • Experience using ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Experience with Zellis (Northgate) payroll system.
