The Governance Manager will be responsible for supporting within the broader Company Secretariat Function within a leading investment bank in London. This role requires an individual who is well-versed in the financial services sector, with a keen ability to manage and oversee governance-related tasks.

Description

The Interim Governance Manager will report in the Group Company Secretary in their London office and be responsible for:

  • Overseeing governance-related activities within the company's financial services department.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance across all operations.
  • Acting as a key contact to deliver the required framework under SMCR.
  • Ensuring collaboration between the People and Culture, Compliance and Company Secretarial teams to ensure timely completion of SMCR related tasks.
  • Supporting the ongoing regulatory requirements (e.g. regulatory applications, updating Statement of Responsibilities and prescribed responsibilities).
  • Communicating effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in regulations.
  • Regularly reporting to senior management on governance and compliance matters.
  • Continuously improving governance processes and procedures within the department.

Profile

A successful Interim Governance Manager should have:

  • A strong background in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in governance within an FCA regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of the SMCR.
  • A solid understanding of governance processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Ideally hold a CGI qualification
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
