Responsible for: Direct line management of six Officers
Interim: 12 weeks with potential extension
Day rate: c £250.00 - £350.00 per day Umbrella

London Borough Council seeks a seasoned Senior Procurement Officer in Housing Management. This crucial role involves driving the Property Procurement Strategy with a keen focus on financial efficiency. For this role you will need demonstrable experience working in procurement within the Housing Sector coupled with experience leading a team of procurement officers and ensure legal, ethical, and accountable service delivery and compliance with all legislation and health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Team Leadership: Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and work allocation for your team.
  • Efficiency and Compliance: Ensure all key performance indicators are met, with strict adherence to health and safety and legal standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Handle inquiries and complaints, prepare reports, and liaise with senior management and external agencies.
  • Legislative Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing laws and advise on relevant changes.
  • Strategic Development: Contribute to the Property Procurement Strategy and Temporary Accommodation (TA) Reduction Programme.
  • Project Management: Assist in managing accommodation schemes, including inspections and operationalisation.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and validate payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Fraud Prevention: Work with the Corporate Anti-Fraud Service to investigate and address landlord fraud.
  • Procedural Adherence: Follow Council procedures for HR and performance management.
  • Housing Scheme Development: Develop and manage housing schemes, both within and outside London.
  • Representation: Represent the service at relevant forums and ensure compliance with statutory changes.
