Senior Quantity Surveyor – D&B Commercial Interiors Projects

·c£70k - £80k Dependent on Experience

The Company

My client is specialises in Commercial construction projects, predominantly Interior Fit-Out & Refurbishment working with blue chip clients in the public and private sector creating workplaces and environments that enhance their client’s business processes.

The Quantity Surveyor Role

They have an exciting position available within their vibrant Commercial Team for the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor with 5 to 10 years post qualification experience. Based in their Central London office they Design and Build fit out works for prestigious offices nationwide. They are looking for an experienced individual to carry out both Pre and Post Contract duties with an established existing team reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

·Taking off quantities from drawings for insertion into estimate cost templates

·Preparation of enquiry documentation utilising standard pro-forma to establish competitive packages

·Analysis of subcontract quotations to enable normalisation and comparison to use most competitive return within our submissions to clients

·Estimating for budgets, fixed price lump sums and competitive tenders

·Work with design team to provide cost effective solution for client at point of cost submission

·Preparation of client view quotations using standard templates

·Ongoing synergy with design team to ensure detailed design is in accordance with the contract and on budget

·Attend site at regular intervals to value works completed

·Price Variations to the BQ, revised drawings and specifications

·Price Variations from Qualification and expenditure of the provisional sums

·Provide detailed rate build ups where necessary

·Value delays to the programme

·Re-measure the works if applicable

·Submit valuations

·Check ongoing costs and interim profitability of the project

·Produce figures for monthly cost value reconciliation on each project

·Submit final account on completion of project

·Attend final account meetings as necessary and agree account,

·Chase retentions when due

The Successful Senior Quantity Surveyors:

·Experience in the majority of the above roles & responsibilities

·Degree qualified

·c10 years full time experience in a surveying role with a leading reputable main / principle contractor

·Good Understanding of JCT forms of contract & Contract law

·Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages

·Good verbal and written communication skills
