About the Role
As Assistant Bar Manager, you will work closely with the Bar Manager to oversee all wet outlets across GAIA London, including the restaurant bar, lounge, NYX bar, and bottle dispense. Youll ensure that our beverage operations run smoothly, cost-effectively, and always to the highest standards of service, hygiene, and safety.
This is a hands-on role where the Assistant Bar Manager will motivate and inspire the team, drive beverage sales and profitability, and contribute to the creative evolution of our cocktail offering in line with GAIAs ethos and the latest industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily bar operations across all outlets, ensuring service excellence and consistency.
- Lead, train, and motivate the bar team to maintain high standards and deliver an outstanding guest experience.
- Manage stock control, rotation, and wastage levels to achieve targeted margins.
- Oversee menu updates and collaborate on seasonal cocktail development twice per year.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Monitor performance and provide feedback to develop team skills and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the wider GAIA management team to drive sales and support overall venue success.
What Were Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory or Assistant Bar Manager role within a high-volume, premium bar or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and beverage trends.
- A natural leader with excellent communication and people management skills.
- Financially aware with a good understanding of stock control and cost management.
- Passion for delivering world-class hospitality with attention to detail.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
