Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Learning Support Assistant to join a special needs unit attached to a mainstream school in Tooting. Key Responsibilities:
* Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students within the special needs unit, catering to their specific learning needs and abilities.
* Autism Support: Utilize your experience and understanding of autism to implement effective strategies and interventions to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
* Assisting Classroom Activities: Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring students with special needs are included and supported in classroom settings.
* Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement among students, fostering a safe and conducive learning environment.
* Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide holistic support to students.
Requirements:
* Experience with Autism: Demonstrate previous experience working with children or young adults with autism, possessing a deep understanding of their needs and characteristics.
* Relevant Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in special needs education or related fields, demonstrating your commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Team Player: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Patience and Empathy: Show patience, empathy, and understanding in working with students with special needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.
