A welcoming Primary School in Haringey, North London, is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support a non-verbal Year 4 pupil with behavioural needs. This is a long-term Learning Support Assistant role, perfect for someone who is patient, calm, and passionate about SEN support.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide consistent 1:1 support, helping the pupil with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in class. You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement structured learning and behaviour plans.
Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:
Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal Year 4 pupil.
Use visual timetables, PECS, and sensory tools to aid communication.
Implement strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Build strong relationships to foster trust and confidence.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents.
Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant:
Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or SEN TA in a primary school.
Understanding of Autism, non-verbal communication, and behaviour management.
Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
A valid DBS on the Update Service.

Pay: 85-100 per day, occasionally higher depending on experience and role complexity
