Our client is looking for an experienced Mental Health Act Coordinator to join their team to be responsible for ensuring administration of the Mental Health Act and supporting the various sites and teams. This role is working 3 days per week. There may be rare travel to other sites in the South of England, but not often at all.

About the role:

You will be responsible for ensuring administration of the Mental Health Act and supporting sites and teams in interpreting and applying the Act, Regulations, statutory guidance and policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Maintain accurate data regarding the use of the Mental Health Act (MHA)
  • Ensure compliance with the MHA
  • Support and assist with staff regarding the MHA and procedures
  • Creating legal files
  • Support the department and service in any administration related to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards where required and identify and escalate any issues

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Drivers license
  • Excellent administration skills including MS Office
  • Good level of education with GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English
  • Previous experience working in an administrative team in Healthcare or legal environment advantageous
  • Working knowledge of mental health services and mental health legislation
  • Able to understand, interpret and apply relevant legislation, and current case law relating to the act.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise to meet constantly changing demands
