Are you a graduate interested in a career in special educational needs (SEN) teaching, educational psychology, or therapy? A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is looking for a motivated Graduate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their SEN team and gain hands-on experience supporting students with additional needs.
This full-time, term-time role offers invaluable practical experience working with young people who have EHCPs, including needs such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. What you'll be doing:
- Providing 1:1 support to a student with an EHCP to help them access learning and develop confidence
- Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social skills development
- Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored support plans
- Observing and recording progress to contribute to reviews and interventions
- Developing your understanding of SEN strategies and best practice in schools
