Our client a leading University, is seeking a dynamic Head of IT to lead and develop a high-performing team of technicians and oversee the implementation and maintenance of specialist technical equipment and infrastructure across a wide range of vocational subject areas.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the technical services team provides outstanding support to both staff and students. The successful candidate will also play a key role in driving innovation, managing technical facilities, and ensuring high standards of compliance, health and safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and ongoing maintenance of technical and specialist equipment.
- Lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality daily support for practical learning environments.
- Manage and monitor equipment and resource budgets efficiently.
- Develop health and safety protocols and ensure full regulatory compliance across all technical areas.
- Act as a senior stakeholder in the ongoing development of technical facilities and infrastructure.
- Provide regular reporting on technical operations and staffing performance.
- Support curriculum development with technical advice and input on future resource needs.
About You
- Proven experience in managing technical services within a , School, Charity, further education or training environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience in budgeting, procurement, and operational planning.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations in technical settings.
- Technically qualified in one or more relevant disciplines.
