This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the technical services team provides outstanding support to both staff and students. The successful candidate will also play a key role in driving innovation, managing technical facilities, and ensuring high standards of compliance, health and safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and ongoing maintenance of technical and specialist equipment.
  • Lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality daily support for practical learning environments.
  • Manage and monitor equipment and resource budgets efficiently.
  • Develop health and safety protocols and ensure full regulatory compliance across all technical areas.
  • Act as a senior stakeholder in the ongoing development of technical facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provide regular reporting on technical operations and staffing performance.
  • Support curriculum development with technical advice and input on future resource needs.

About You

  • Proven experience in managing technical services within a , School, Charity, further education or training environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, procurement, and operational planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations in technical settings.
  • Technically qualified in one or more relevant disciplines.
