An exciting new opportunity has become available to join a leading UK Service Change Team working within the public sector to lead the management of service changes to ensure seamless integration of Business & IT Services with minimal impact on customers. This role is integral in managing raised changes/releases into production, collaborating with senior management across Enterprise Service Management, Business units, and suppliers.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee changes/releases into production, ensuring they are implemented with control and rigour.
  • Work with the Transformation Programme to deploy transition releases effectively.
  • Operationalise defined processes and tooling for Change and Release management.
  • Post-Transformation, continue to control new or changed services, which may be scheduled or result from an incident, requiring rigorous assessment following industry best practices.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to evaluate service impacts and make informed decisions swiftly.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and drive continual improvement within the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience as a change/release manager in a multi-supplier outsourced model.
  • Strong background in managing service transitions, creating documentation, and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Experience leading ITIL Change/Release Service Management and establishing processes.
  • ITIL 3 or 4 Foundation certification.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and set expectations with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a structured and methodical approach.
  • Understanding of Lean, Agile, and DevOps principles within a service-centric delivery model.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow, particularly the Release/Change modules, or willingness to upskill.
