Contract Scrum Master (x2) - Major Digital Transformation - Financial Services
Role: Scrum Master (Two Positions)
Day Rate: £600 (Umbrella Engagement)
Contract Duration: Initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension up to 18 months.
Location: Required on-site presence for 1 day per week in either London or Surrey.
Our client, a prominent organisation within the Insurance sector (broader Financial Services experience will also be highly regarded), is undertaking a critical transformation programme impacting two of their core platforms. To enhance their existing high-performing team and accelerate these strategic initiatives, they are establishing several new Scrum teams and require the expertise of two dedicated and delivery-focused Scrum Masters.
This represents a unique opportunity to join a new phase of this significant programme and play a pivotal role in ensuring successful and timely delivery. You will be responsible for fostering effective Scrum practices across two Scrum teams, working in close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Business Analysis functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a dedicated Scrum Master for two newly formed Scrum teams.
- Drive a strong delivery focus within the teams, ensuring consistent progress and value delivery.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve impediments and dependencies that may impact team velocity.
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives) effectively and efficiently.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting self-organisation and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure a well-defined and prioritised backlog.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering teams to ensure technical delivery aligns with product goals.
- Engage with Business Analysts to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and user stories.
- Manage and collaborate effectively with third-party teams integrated within the Scrum framework.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Agile practices within the organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master within complex environments.
- Demonstrable experience in establishing and maturing new Scrum teams.
- A strong track record of driving delivery and taking ownership of problem resolution.
- Experience managing and collaborating with third-party teams.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework.
- Experience within the Insurance sector is highly preferred; however, candidates with broader Financial Services experience will also be strongly considered.
