Design Engineer - Fire Safety
Monday - Friday: 8.30AM - 5.00PM (Flexible 1 hour either side)
Annual Salary between £38,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
People Solutions are delighted to present an opportunity for a Design & Estimating Engineer to join our client who is a leading provider of commercial fire and safety systems.
This is a home-based role with the requirement to work in the Loughborough office one day a week.A driving licence is required as client site visits will be required (typically 2/3 times a month). A hire car will be provided for such visits and fuel/expenses will be paid by the business.
The purpose of the role is to design bespoke fire alarm solutions and write customer proposals.

Day to Day Duties
Daily Duties Include:
- Managing a number of designs and proposals simultaneously with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Internal liaison with Project Managers, installations teams and Business Development Managers to establish costs and deliver proposals to customers.
- Ensuring that all projects are costed accurately and within company margins, seeking approvals when necessary.
- Ensuring that all designs and proposals meet with the relevant standards and regulations at the time of writing.
- Provide excellent technical information and customer service to all external and internal stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Experienced Fire Design Engineer (FIA Design qualification or similar).
- A full clean UK driving licence.
- Technical knowledge of fire systems such as Hochiki, Gent, Advanced or Ziton.
- The ability to pass vetting and security clearance checks.
Desirable Experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience within a similar role dealing with contractors and end users.
Training
- Full training provided 'on the job'.
