Planner – Main Contractor Construction

The Company

My client is a leading Main / Principle Interiors Construction Contractor, providing products and services to create high end luxury interior environments in the High End Residential, Luxury Hotel and Restaurant sectors in London and the UK.

The Planner Role

Due to the continuous growth and expansion, and the continuous winning of numerous multi-million-pound contracts they have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to work from their Leicester head office supporting sites throughout the UK.

Whilst primarily an ASTA role, they are happy to talk to Planners proficient in other software such as MS Project or Primavera. The ability to provide input in the providing of scheduling, planning, advice and the development of the relevant schedules is the overriding key to this position.

The role will include the full range of programme management skills in providing scheduling, planning, advice and the development of the relevant schedules with the following aspects of the development:

Working with clients such as main contractors and sub-contractors, you will oversee staged deliveries of the programme with detailed planning and progress monitoring processes

The post holder will develop and manage integrated programme schedules of detailed delivery plans and provide support to programme directors on planning matters to assist service delivery

Assist with the setup planning department(s), and managing other professionals to provide comprehensive project controls support to developers, contractors and partners and progress monitor, assess and status report to the senior management

To operate as a planning professional, utilising knowledge of programme change management and change controls processes

The Successful Planner

Previous experience in a planning department, dealing with a range of complex construction programmes, planning and scheduling.

Experience in planning programmes is essential (including baselines, drop lines etc)

Proven ability to convert works scopes and/or technical documents into programmes (both tender programmes and ‘live’ won projects
