Reed Finance is recruiting for a well-known business in the Lowestoft area who are looking to recruit an Accountant on a permanent basis.  The company are well known in their field of expertise and have a great reputation as a local, family company who pride themselves on delivering excellence through service.

The Accountant position will report directly into the Financial Controller and support with the management of the finance team.  Ideally full time, the role will be office based and the company offer a competitive salary and benefits package along with the potential for study support.

The purpose of the role will be to assist in all business and financial matters including but not limited to, maintaining financial records, processing payments and invoices, payroll, year-end requirements, production of internal financial reports and responding to customer enquiries.

Outline of the role:

  • To ensure the timely completion of the monthly payrolls, management accounts preparation, payment runs and VAT reporting.
  • To reconcile the balance sheet and intercompany transactions
  • To manage the Accounts Administrators
  • To understand and be proficient in all aspects of sales and purchase ledger processing
  • Taking responsibility for month end adjustments, processing accruals, prepayments, etc.
  • Reconciling balance sheets.
  • Assist with VAT return production.
  • To assist with CIS and DRC responsibilities and associated works
  • Assist with Company VAT returns
  • To produce labour utilisation, sales graphs and other operational management reports as necessary

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and project accounting
  • Confident with Accounting systems, Sage desirable
  • Intermediate/ Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft 365
  • Previous experience of Management Accounts and the ability to demonstrate technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience in multi-entity accounting, CIS and DRC would be an advantage
  • Good communicator who is comfortable and confident building relationships across the business.  With the confidence to explain financial aspects of the business to non-financial colleagues
