Job Description

The role is field based, covering the Luton area. As an 18th edition electrician, you would be responsible for various tasks related to electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs while adhering to the standards outlined in the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations.

Some of the tasks you may perform:

1.Installation: Planning, installing, and testing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings according to the regulations.

2.Inspection and Testing: Conducting thorough inspections and tests on electrical installations to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

3.Fault Finding and Repair: Troubleshooting electrical systems to identify and rectify faults or malfunctions safely and efficiently.

4.Compliance: Ensuring that all electrical work meets the requirements of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, local building codes, and other relevant standards.

5.Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of installations, inspections, tests, and repairs for compliance and future reference.

6.Safety: Prioritizing safety protocols and practices to prevent electrical hazards and ensure the well-being of individuals and property.

7.Continuing Education: Staying updated on changes and advancements in electrical technology, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Overall, as an 18th edition electrician, you would play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of electrical systems in various environments.

Key Summary of Activities & Responsibilities:

- Working in teams or on your own, installations will vary across nights, day and weekend shifts.

- Assist on multi team installations, support and encourage good practice with apprentices.

- Will need to be focused on the job at hand and work to timescales.

- Assist project managers with any issues that may arise during an installation and report immediately.

Essential Skills

Full valid UK Driving License

- City and guilds 18th Edition

- Maintenance background not essential but useful

- Timekeeping, housekeeping of vans, equipment etc
