Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a well-established and thriving pseudo manufacturer and distributor of electrical products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring product quality, investigating issues, and driving continuous improvement within the company.

Day to day of the role:
  • Monitor product quality and report findings to the Management Team.
  • Investigate product quality issues to establish root causes and liaise with the factory to implement improvements.
  • Resolve quality issues through robust root cause analysis and implement permanent and preventative corrective actions.
  • Support the development of FMEA’s, quality control, and test plans as part of the product Life Cycle Management process for new and existing products.
  • Review customer complaints and address them as necessary.
  • Manage Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and Goods Inwards (GI) inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Oversee product rework, write rework instructions, and ensure adherence to these guidelines.
  • Manage factory desktop or 3rd party audits, including ethical audits, instructing the Far East team.
  • The role may evolve into Quality Assurance and ISO Management Systems responsibilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in 8D reporting and other quality management tools.
  • Strong report writing skills that accurately convey conclusions.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation products and their applications is an advantage.
  • Methodical and organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative.
