Hourly Care Assistant for Product Design Uni Student – Summer Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a 20-year-old student studying Product Design at University of Nottingham. They are looking for a like-minded person to join their care team and assist them in a daily living.
Start: ASAP
Hours: 16-20 hours per week
Hourly shift pattern:Mixture of Mornings and Evenings
Location: Macclesfield (summer role)
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Holidays: 5.6 weeks’ holiday pro rata
About our client
Our client lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which affects every muscle in his body. He is an avid Nottingham Forest and Manchester United Fan, and enjoys Formula 1. He also enjoys going out to the Cinema, the Theatre and to restaurants. He is moving back home to Macclesfield for the summer, where he will need support with his daily living. He will be moving back to Nottingham from September, where he will continue his studies.
About you
Our ideal candidate has a great sense of humour, loves football and enjoys going to matches. You are understanding, patient, able to both follow directions and work off your own initiative, and have good written and spoken English. You must be able to keep yourself busy when you are not needed, but close by and reachable by text/phone call. No experience needed as full training will be given. You will need to be local due to the shift patterns.

“Hi, I’m Toby, I have a genetic condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which affects every muscle in my body and therefore, my ability to walk. But I won’t let this stop me! I am currently studying Product Design at Nottingham Trent University. However, due to my condition I will need a group of full-time personal assistants to help me with personal care and accessing my education.
Don’t worry, it won’t feel like you work for me but it will be like we are mates. You must be understanding and patient, and work on initiative as well as respecting my privacy.”
About the Job
You will provide our client's care at his home over the Summer.

This is role goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect a second-year university student to be doing, like getting out and socialising, whether that be cinema, going out for meals or other general activities!
