Contract Continuous Improvement Manager

6 month + rolling contract

Fantastic contract opportunity for a motivated Contract Continuous Improvement Manager to join a leading design, development and manufacturer in a key , high visibility contract role.

The role of Continuous Improvement Manager will be pivotal in taking on overall responsibility for ensuring the maximum efficiency of Manufacturing Operations / Manufacturing Engineering and NPI activities.

You will use your passion for lean and first class leadership / people skills to ultimately manage and set the priorities for your Value Steam to ensure optimum productivity / continuous improvement goals are met. 

With a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering / production management / process development, you will be accountable ensuring process are developed to be robust, repeatable and as streamlined as possible. 

 As Continuous Improvement Manager / Value Stream Manager you will utilise your lean / six sigma manufacturing expertise to:

  • Manage and develop manufacturing processes and specific value stream/s
  • Provide lean expertise and six sigma knowledge to input into processes and systems
  • Utilise your first-class leadership skills to improve the skills and capabilities of your team through lean workshops, 5S training etc
  • Ensure KPI’s are met and a culture of lean and continuous improvement is embedded
  • Support New Product Development and Process development with best practise – FMEA’s, DFM, SPC and similar

To succeed in this highly autonomous, key role you will ideally need to be:

  • HND / Degree qualified in an Engineering or operational discipline (or with proven relevant industry experience)
  • Have in depth lean manufacturing (ideally six sigma to green belt standard) experience gained in Production
  • First class leadership / Production Management experience within an assembly manufacturing environment.
  • SAP or ERP / MRP experience
  • An understanding of Six Sigma / lean tools and techniques essential.
