Geography Teacher

We are looking for a dedicated Geography Teacher to join Desborough College in Maidenhead for a maternity cover role. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for geography and education, ready to inspire students from KS3 to KS5. While QTS is preferred, candidates with strong subject knowledge and teaching experience will also be considered.

• Delivering Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5 with a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
• Preparing lesson plans, materials, and resources that cater to different learning abilities within the classroom.
• Assessing and recording students’ progress, preparing them for exams, and providing constructive feedback.
• Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, stimulating learning environment.
• Participating in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school training events.
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and integrate best practices in teaching.

• A degree in Geography or a related subject.
• QTS is preferred, but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum for KS3-5.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students.
• Commitment to professional development and learning.
