We are currently working in partnership with a leading Housing Association based in Kent with who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

This position is due to start subject to notice, is paying £52,500 and offers 3-4 days working from home.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA and have experience working throughout the Social Housing sector.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Ensuring that financial accounting processes are completely and effectively within agreed
targets, in line with financial delegations
Completing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items on a timely
basis
Maintaining the fixed asset registers
Preparing cashflow forecasts and balance sheet reports
Supporting the Financial Controller in preparing monthly performance and annual financial
statements
Monitoring the effective operation of financial and operational controls and procedures, reporting any issues or concerns immediately to management
Ensuring the monthly payroll process is effective, performing appropriate checks, and liaising with colleagues in the People team and Golding’s payroll bureau service to clear errors
Assisting with the preparation of regulatory returns
Assisting with the preparation and presentation of statutory accounts

Experience required:

Experience required in a similar financial accounting position
Experience in the public sector

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

Excellent communication skills
Intermediate Excel skills and preferably knowledge of Open Accounts
Fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
