JOB DESCRIPTION

They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Horsham. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects by providing expert cost management and commercial support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Preparing accurate and detailed bills of quantities and tender documents.
  • Evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
  • Managing project budgets, cash flow, and cost control measures.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project financial performance, including monthly valuations and cost value reconciliations.
  • Providing commercial advice and support to project teams and senior management.
  • Assessing and managing project risks and opportunities.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Resolving contractual disputes and claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of quantity surveying processes and procedures.

WHO WE SEEK

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A degree or diploma in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
