Financial Reporting Accountant

Manchester/Hybrid

£55-65k plus excellent benefits

Unique opportunity to join a world leading professional services business in their corporate accounting team in Manchester.

You will support offices across Europe and Middle East as part of the shared service function working closely with overseas accountants and responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for the EMEA business including month end close balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory and compliance filings.

Key Responsibilities

 • Completing monthly close to global deadlines including preparation and posting of monthend journals

 • Preparation/review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including timely resolution of differences.

 • Preparation/review and settlement of intercompany invoices monthly local statutory accounts, fiscal and compliance

 • Preparation of various UK (and potentially non-UK) statutory accounts, entities will include a mix of LLPs, Limited and Holding companies

 • Support Manager Group Audit and Reporting on the UK Group audit ensuring resulting in a timely completion and filing

 • Partner with other team members to ensure consistency of process, approach and accounting treatments are adopted across all entities as appropriate

 • Assist with the preparation of the UK group financial statements

. • Review and reconcile local GAAP/management accounts, understand differences and where appropriate adjust GAAP and/or local books

• Build strong external relationships with the wider business, also external advisors, including auditors and local accountants

Lead the preparation and review of VAT return (s) and support on VAT compliance matters as required.

• Support the preparation of other fiscal returns e.g. Corporation Tax, PSA, Statistical Returns etc

• Support and partner with the wider Finance Team; Accounts Payable, Billing, Treasury and Payroll, liaising with Accounts Payable and Billing Teams to ensure that costs are correctly allocated to each business unit

 • Partner with the Tax team to ensure CIT returns, withholding tax and transfer pricing obligations are met

• Assist on ad-hoc projects as required

• Support the development and mentoring of junior team members

Essential skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA with 3-5 years post qualification experience in industry and background in audit/practice from a top tier practice
  • Previous experience operating in an international multi-site business with exposure to FX transactions.
  • Experience of overseeing the preparation of local GAAP financial statements, in addition to group financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and experience in VAT preparation.
  • Strong technical knowledge and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Consolidation experience is advantageous.
  • Professional services industry experience is desirable.
  • Team leadership and development experience
  • Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines, results orientated and “can do” attitude.
  • Natural team player who can interact easily with your colleagues and have strong communication skills.
