One of the UK's leading multi-billion-pound civil engineering contractors is seeking a freelance Senior Engineer to join their specialist project delivery team. You'll play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and monitoring of instrumentation systems across major energy projects, supporting both pre-construction and delivery phases.
?? Key Responsibilities:-
Lead the design and integration of instrumentation systems for large-scale civils and energy projects

Oversee installation, calibration, and commissioning of monitoring equipment (e.g., geotechnical, structural, and environmental sensors)

Collaborate with design teams, site engineers, and project managers to ensure robust and efficient solutions

Produce and review technical documentation, instrumentation layout drawings, and monitoring reports
-
Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications across the full project lifecycle

Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

Proven track record in instrumentation design within large civils or energy infrastructure projects

Deep understanding of monitoring technologies, data acquisition, and geotechnical instrumentation

Experience working on nuclear, power generation, or major utilities projects is highly desirable

Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
