EC&I Engineer

Manchester - Hybrid Working

EC&I Engineer needed for a leading defence engineering firm based in Manchester.

As a EC&I Engineer, you will be degree qualified within electrical engineering or equivalent experience. For Principal level we would expect Chartered Engineering status and previous line management experience ideally.

What the role of the EC&I Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the EC&I Engineer will include:

  • Undertaking functional design of Complex Integrated Process Control Systems, providing specialist advice, and producing evidence in support of legislative, safety and technical requirements
  • Liaising with internal and external customers as part of the technical team
  • Articulating and presenting technical argument, clearly, logically, and simply
  • Executing, evaluating, delivering, and managing complex engineering and/or cross functional tasks or programmes of work recognising stakeholder and customer requirements
  • Leading and developing a small team of Control and Instrumentation engineers
  • Identifying as well as implementing opportunities for personal/team development to ensure that professional capability of the business and individual are maintained as well as improved

What experience you need to be the successful EC&I Engineer:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle phases and technical specialities
  • Significant experience producing and communicating design documentation and artefacts relating to Control Systems
  • Experience developing solutions to meet complex technical requirements in a highly regulated industry/environment
  • Obtained or capable of obtaining relevant Professional Registration (CEng)
