Turner Lovell is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer /Lead Technical Sales Engineer to join a provider of battery storage, MV equipment and global EPC contractor. They are rapidly growing within the renewable energy and energy storage market. With an impressive portfolio of recently acquired high-profile battery storage projects, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative battery storage and renewable energy solutions.

In your role as Lead Electrical Engineer /Lead Technical Sales Engineer will use your balance of plant (BOP) expertise to provide innovate solutions to renewable energy projects in the UK and international markets. You will collaborate with customer teams and inhouse engineering experts to develop and review technical specifications, define the design & installation scopes of work, calculate MV equipment costs (transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks, circuit breakers) and estimate installation and construction costs. Following winning bids, you will then then technically support the delivery of international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your knowledge of BOP / MV equipment sector to prepare estimates for the EPC of renewable energy and renewable energy projects.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare comprehensive estimates for energy storage and renewable energy balance of plant projects in the UK, Europa, Asia and Americas..
  • Conduct technical studies to verify the correct specification and design of MV components, including transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks and auxiliary systems.
  • Provide technical support in the creation and evaluation of subcontractor and power equipment bid packages
  • Ensure compliance with customer regional and country technical specifications for battery storage project work scopes.
  • Support the commercial team to create compelling customer presentations, showcasing technical capabilities and proposals for MV equipment relating to battery energy storage systems.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent subject.
  • At least 1 years experience in a technical sales / technical proposal role - writing and costing for BOP systems for various customers.
  • Extensive design and project experience in MV substations, transmission, distribution, power generation (wind, solar, energy storage), or related fields.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest to participate in international renewable energy projects.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, BSI, and IEC standards and codes related to MV equipment.
