Our long-established and engineering focused Client continues to specialise in the batch production of machined components and fabrications from their core site near Manchester. In support of their continued success, they are seeking an Estimator who will work alongside the sales team and provide estimates for the manufacture of medium to large steel fabrications.

With their activity across the rail, defence, subsea, O&G and mining sectors and over 60-years of history, our Client offers 'build to print' subcontract services, or a full turnkey package. Therefore, candidates for this position should have similar experience.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the position will receive job packages of work to include: engineering drawings, parts lists, material & manufacturing specifications along with any specific quality standards required. You will be responsible for providing cost estimates for materials, fabrication, welding, machining and any other sub-contract activities required on the project.

Person Specification

Essential, candidates must have:

-    A background in medium to heavy, welded steel fabrications.

-    Experience in the various fabrication processes - Flame cutting, sawing, rolling, bending.

-    Experience in the various welding processes - SAW, MAG, TIG.

-    Experience in the various CNC machining processes - Turning, milling, horizontal & vertical boring.

-    Experience in the various coating processes - Shotblast & wet paint systems.

-    A good understanding of computer software and use of MS Excel & Word. 

Desirable:

-    Prior experience of the Sub-sea Oil & Gas, Nuclear and the renewables market.

-    Commercial experience to include: Tender packages, T&C's and NEC3

This is an office/site-based role and works alongside an organisation of over 60 people. The role comes with a competitive salary and pension.
