Are you a transformative HR leader ready to shape and lead a high-performing HR Shared Services function? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments, managing complex change and embedding best-in-class HR operations?

We're hiring a Head of HR Shared Services to join our clients growing HR team during a pivotal time of transformation. Based in Manchester, this role offers the opportunity to design and build a standalone HR Shared Services function that delivers efficient, compliant, and effective support across the full employee lifecycle.

Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and embed HR processes that ensure operational excellence and legal compliance

  • Lead the transition of key HR functions from Group support to an internal shared service model

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, contracts, changes, offboarding

  • Optimise and support HR systems (HCM) implementation and continuous improvement

  • Manage accurate and GDPR-compliant HR data, reporting and audit processes

  • Deliver pensions, benefits, and payroll administration

  • Drive performance, SLAs, and KPIs across the shared services team

  • Partner closely with HRBPs and other internal teams for seamless service delivery

Profile

What We're Looking For:
  • Proven leadership in a Head of HR Shared Services or HR Operations environment

  • Expert knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance, pensions, and benefits

  • Strong experience with HRIS systems and process automation

  • Demonstrated success during periods of significant organisational change

  • Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills

  • Organised, agile, and capable of meeting tight deadlines under pressure

  • Experience working in a digital Retail / Tech / E-com would be highly advantageous
