PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer: 

Our client is a global manufacturing company whose UK site is based in Surrey and their head office in Germany. They are looking for a PLC Programmer to work directly at one of their customer’s sites (south of Manchester) on a large project.

Training on the products will be at their main site in Germany. The working week is 37.5 hours a week however overtime is paid as well as a fee for every overnight stay. Our client also offers a company bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, medical insurance and a company car / car allowance.

Duties:

  • Commission and test control programs for the machines
  • Implementation and documentation of software tests for programs
  • Create and edit HMI systems for machines
  • Analyze problems and troubleshoot issues remotely or at customer’s sites
  • Carry out maintenance/ modification visits at customer’s sites

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronic / Automation Engineering
  • Relevant industrial experience in an automation role, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ medical device industry
  • Good working knowledge of PLC programming, especially 1st Schneider and 2nd Rockwell (allen Bradley)Schneider and Codesys, or other PLC systems
  • Creativity and inventiveness in the solution of complex requirements
  • Personal initiative and independent work
  • High communication and teamwork skills
  • Good written and spoken English language skills is required. 
  • German language skills not essential but advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide up to 150 days / year
