Role Summary
Managing highly complex Professional Indemnity Claims, working within specific limits of broad authority on assignments requiring a high degree of technical complexity and coordination, whilst also being recognised as a technical expert in this field.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of high complexity Professional Indemnity Claims, determining if a major claim should be settled or litigated.
- Negotiating highly complex settlement packages, and authorising payment within scope of authority.
- Effectively and accurately reserving claims in line with the company's reserving philosophy.
- Advising the wider business on anticipated claims trends.
- Contributing to business planning, with the ability to articulate and support the Underwriting strategy.
- Partnering with Solicitors, Brokers, customers and experts to develop a claims resolution strategy.
Key Requirements
- Candidates must have strong Professional Indemnity Claims handling experience, ideally including experience of handling Construction PI Claims. Additional experience of handling Cyber and Technology PI Claims is preferred, but not essential.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with business partners at all levels, both internally and externally.
