A high turnover Human Resources and Personnel business that I'm delighted to be partnered with are looking for a Payments Associate to join their growing finance function.

Based out of their highly accessible city of Manchester offices (central), you'll play an integral part in maintaining client relationships in relation to accounts receivable.

As the payments associate, your responsibilities will include...

  • Chasing Payments: Your main task is to follow up with clients who haven't paid their bills on time. You'll remind them about outstanding invoices and negotiate payment terms.
  • Handling Queries: Clients might have questions about their bills or payment schedules. You'll provide clear answers over the phone, email, or in writing.
  • Recording Payments: When clients do pay, you'll make sure their payments are accurately recorded.
  • Working with Teams: You'll collaborate with other departments to resolve payment issues and keep accounts running smoothly.
  • Spotting Opportunities: While collecting payments, look for chances to retain clients by addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Adjusting Accounts: Sometimes, you'll need to correct billing errors or update account details.
  • Escalating Issues: If payment efforts fail, you'll provide a detailed case history for senior management to review

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Accountability for the overall performance of a team
  • Adherence to individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent Client Engagement, Cash Collection, Rescheduling Arrears, Direct Debit coverage, Outbound Call targets, Debtor Days, Collection Efficiencies, Aged Debt movements
  • Preference for picking up the phone and speaking to clients over emailing them
  • To ensure a high level of attendance and punctuality
  • Ambitious with the determination to succeed
