About the Role:

Our client are one of the UK's leading painting and decorating contractors, delivering high-quality finishes across a wide range of sectors including education, residential, healthcare, industrial, hotel and leisure, commercial, and heritage.

Operating on a nationwide basis, our reputation is built on reliability, professionalism, and consistently exceeding client expectations. Due to continued growth and a strong forward workload, they are looking to recruit 4-5 experienced Site Supervisors to oversee projects in Manchester and the surrounding areas.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily communication with the Contracts Manager on job progress, issues, or potential delays.

  • Supervise on-site painting and decorating works, ensuring all work meets high quality and safety standards.

  • Monitor performance against project budgets and timelines.

  • Prepare and submit weekly reports and documentation to the Contracts Manager.

  • Take responsibility for site equipment, ensuring proper use by trained operatives only.

  • Distribute and enforce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Deliver weekly Toolbox Talks, addressing relevant health & safety topics and workforce development needs.



Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Good IT literacy for reporting and job management via tablet/phone.

  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety regulations in the construction and decorating sectors.

  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to quality and professionalism.



Qualifications & Certifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Painting & Decorating or a relevant construction discipline (or equivalent).

  • SSSTS or SMSTS (highly desirable).

  • IPAF & PASMA (desirable but not essential).

  • First Aid at Work (desirable but not essential as training will be given).

  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
