We have a fantastic opportunity for an Information Governance Assistant at Bolton Council. This is a Full-time Temporary role for the next 2 - 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Bolton Council are looking for a Information Governance Assistant to provide administrative support to the Information Governance Team by acting as a first point of contact for members of the public and others seeking information. To provide administrative support around project management as well as basic systems support.
What are your responsibilities?
- To act as a first point of contact for information governance dealing efficiently and effectively with internal and external enquiries and providing administrative support to the Information Governance Team.
- Where appropriate, formulate routine responses and acknowledgements to correspondence, customer queries ensuring any follow up actions are managed appropriately to meet agreed corporate standards.
- Develop and maintain accurate and effective case management systems relating to information and data access requests, ensuring appropriate access to key documents and management information.
- Provide project support that enables the successful delivery of the council’s information strategy.
- To plan, co-ordinate and organise appointments, meetings, events, and presentations on behalf of the Information Governance Team.
- Analyse data and present findings to key stakeholders, on risk, trends, and Information Governance statutory performance indicators.
- Support management by contributing to the development of policies and guidance to ensure the Council complies with its statutory and regulatory information governance (IG) and data protection (DP) responsibilities.
- To maintain and update the team’s intranet and external web pages under the direction of the Head of Information Governance
- Assist with other Information Governance related areas as requested by the Head of Information Governance
What skills do you Need?
- Must have previous Information Governance Assistant experience.
- Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, and other members of staff.
- Strong IT Skills, as you will be using Microsoft office packages, including internal council IT systems as well .
