We are currently recruiting for a unique Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader position with one of the UK's leading textiles producers. This role involves working a 36-hour week from Friday to Sunday (6am-6pm). The primary responsibility is preventative maintenance, ensuring machinery is maintained outside of production hours to maximize production efficiency. Managing a team of up to three, this is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled mechanical engineer to step into a management role.

Who This Job Would Suit:

This role is ideal for a seasoned Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with at least two years of experience in technical or engineering roles within a manufacturing environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, possess strong diagnostic skills, and have a hands-on approach to problem-solving. Experience in the textiles industry is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team on weekend shifts to maintain and repair machinery.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and rectify minor issues.
  • Improve machine cleanliness and reduce maintenance time.
  • Lubricate textile equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide feedback on maintenance issues and implement improvements.
