Care Support Worker - Learning Disability | Liverpool | 12 hour shifts – night and day shifts 8am-8pm/8pm-8am | £13.44 per hour

Our client is a CQC-registered organisation that provides therapeutic treatment programmes within the community to children, young adults and families in crisis.

Established in 2017, they specialise in providing experienced care professionals to support service users facing a range of challenges, such as:

  • Challenging Behaviours
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Oppositional Deficit Disorder (ODD)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Sexually Harmful Behaviours
  • Attachment Disorders
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Global Development Delay

You will be an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate individual, eager to join a dedicated team of Learning Disability Care Support Workers.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Possess a minimum of 12 months experience of working with young people/children with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Difficulties and Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties
  • Possess a can-do, resilient, compassionate and empathetic attitude
  • Be confident in managing in challenging situations with children and young people
  • Have a natural ability to build positive relationships with young people, listen to them, and earn their trust
  • Be able to manage difficult behaviours such as swearing, aggression, shut downs, self-harm, and conflict resolution
  • Be competent working with IT systems including MS Office and our in house portal
  • Possess a UK driving licence – desirable not essential
  • Be confident in utilising safe holds & restraints where necessary

What will your role look like?

  • Motivate the service user to engage in key working sessions and therapeutic activities
  • Actively listen and support the service user at all times
  • Take a genuine interest in what the service user enjoys doing
  • Work as part of a team at all times to provide the best support possible to the service user
  • Administer medication to the service user as required
  • Utilise distraction and de-escalation techniques where required
  • Support the service user with healthy meals by either cooking for them or with them
  • Support the service user with laundry
