Graduate Mechanical Technician (Textiles)

Our client, a reputable textiles manufacturer, are mechanical technician. Working within the Development and Technical Department team, you will be responsible for the manufacture of new products, from early concept stage, and the introduction of new items into full bulk production. Working to and generating specifications and techniques. You will be involved with mechanical looms and the data input information.

Responsibilities:

  • To plan, maintain and re-equip where necessary the warehouse area and inventory of tools, equipment and supplies associated with the operation of the textile machinery.
  • To assist with the maintaining of records on the movement, storage and recording of machines, materials and spare parts.
  • To carry out administration for textile machinery and maintain accurate records relating to the running of the machinery, maintenance schedules and health and safety risk assessments and report any issues to the Manager in a timely manner.

Applicants are invited who have a Textile manufacturing weaving base and feel they have the necessary experience, drive and enthusiasm along with a meticulous attention to detail to succeed in this role. A hands on approach is essential together with an open mind.

A knowledge of weaving machinery functions and to be computer literate is necessary along with the ability to problem solve and work on own initiative. You must have effective communications skills as you will be required to communicate with all levels of staff.
