About the role

Connex Education is working with a cluster of SEN schools within the North Nottinghamshire area which have bases in Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Blidworth. The Alternative Provision school in question are recruiting for a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis.

The school itself provides an inclusive, engaging learning environment for children between the ages of 11 and 18 years old, with a key focus of increasing opportunities for all people with disabilities. The school prides itself on being an OFSTED rated ‘’Outstanding’’ school and has asked for a dedicated individual to join and continue the high-quality education and support that is already provided.

Assignment details

As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work between the hours of 9.00am-4:30pm and be able to start as soon as possible for the summer term. For the right candidate this may extend into the next academic year. However, we are aware that these hours may not suit everyone, Connex Education and the school are happy to discuss this at interview.

Person Specification

  • Have experience of supporting pupils with Special Needs either in a School or a similar setting
  • Strive for excellence and go the extra mile!
  • Be willing to provide personal care
  • Be confident in working with challenging behaviour
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
