Band 6 Prison Mental Health Nurse - Integrated Mental Health Team

Contract: 3 month initial contract with the view of extension

Location: Market Drayton

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Rate of Pay: £26p/h

We are supporting a local NHS Trust who are seeking a Band 6 Prison Mental Health Nurse to support their Integrated Mental Health Team at a local prison in Market Drayton.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of own caseload, this will include the assessments, monitoring and provision of specialist nursing interventions to individual prisoners with secondary mental health needs.
  • Provide a range of interventions across the integrated offender health model - this includes primary care and wellbeing interventions where appropriate.
  • Act upon referrals from Prison based Primary Care staff, and external teams.
  • Provide assessment, implementation and development of care programmes for individuals on your caseload.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems, counselling techniques, CBT, motivational interviewing.
  • Prison Clearance is essential.
