We have an exciting new opportunity at one of our care homes in Market Drayton for an Assistant Service Manager who can share in Bethphage’s values. As the Assistant Service Manager you will provide high quality support to adults with learning disabilities , Autism and those who require support with mental health conditions. You will ensure they are supported to develop and maintain independence, take part in community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities in a person-centred way.

The role will involve you supporting the Service Manager to lead the day to day management of the care home, providing effective management for up to four people. You will ensure the team provide the people supported to have opportunities of their choice and to aid them to eventually move on to a new permanent home. You will be an experienced in health and social care worker, a good communicator and able to work with people at all levels. You should be confident and knowledgeable of the care sector, good at problem-solving and know when to seek help and advice. You will have great IT skills and write legibly, have significant experience in person-centred and positive behaviour support practices.

Candidates who do not have a level 3 qualification but are prepared to work towards this will be considered so long as they have suitable supervisory experience and professional knowledge in the sector, ideally in learning disability.

You will be required to be on-call for this role (Shared with other assistant managers throughout the company). Further information can be discussed at interview stage.

About You:

Essential Requirements:

  • Level Two diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the care sector
  • Driver with UK manual licence and own car
  • Have an understanding of Person-Centred Planning
  • Previous experience working with Positive Behaviour Support
  • Experience of working with people with Learning disabilities and Autism
  • Experience managing medication
  • Need to be flexible, to work shifts and manage admin hours
  • Confident in IT knowledge/skills/systems
  • Participating in the on-call Rota is a requirement.

Desirable Requirements

  • Level three diploma in Health and Social Care
