Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker who can support children in an SEN school in Melksham.

Our client is a specialist educational provision for young people with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. They need an passionate Teaching Assistant or Support Worker to join them on a long-term basis, from April 2024. With the complex needs of the students, we are looking for individuals who are capable and enthusiastic to work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Personal care may be involved.

The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Type of work - Classroom and SEN support
  • Contract or position start date - ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Full academic Year
  • Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary - Permanent
  • Full time/part time - Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - 95 - 105 per day
  • Hours - 8:20 am - 3.30pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar setting
  • LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable but not essential
  • GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year is preferable but not essential

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
