Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Estimator with specialized expertise in property development to join our dynamic team in Middlesborough. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by accurately assessing costs, preparing detailed estimates, and providing valuable insights to inform decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project requirements, specifications, and timelines.
- Conduct thorough analysis of project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify materials, labour, and other cost components.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for property development projects, including detailed breakdowns of labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and overheads.
- Research market trends, material costs, and subcontractor rates to ensure estimates are competitive and reflective of current market conditions.
- Work closely with procurement teams to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and secure contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide ongoing support to project teams by monitoring costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and addressing any variations or discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum X years) as an Estimator within the property development sector, with a track record of successfully estimating costs for a variety of residential and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, RSMeans).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and industry standards relevant to property development.
