The company:

A global manufacturing business is searching for a Network Engineer to join at an exciting time of digital transformation for the business. This company is forever focussing on continuous improvement and innovation, they are looking for their network team to help them make this a possibility. 

The role:

This role will ensure effective technical management and development of IT Infrastructure systems and networks. You will be upgrading complex technical systems and processes, to deliver operation excellence and data security. This role is a mixture of project and BAU work. You will be involved in the following activities: 

  • System Improvement: Identifies and leads technical upgrades and enhancements for key infrastructure systems. Co-ordinate with global stakeholders to plan and deliver these improvements.
  • Business Continuity: Handling incidents and changes requiring specific technical expertise or business knowledge.
  • System Development: Managing the introduction of new technologies. Define technical standards and ensures a smooth transition to operational services.
  • Project Support and Service Intake: Provide support from design to delivery, especially related to IT infrastructure.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensuring operational changes align with IT security standards is a priority. Track compliance reviews, risk assessments, and remediation plans associated with IT Operations.
  • Out of hours: planning and delivering system upgrades and enhancements.

Key skills required for this role:

  • Strong commercial experience with IT Network Infrastructure
  • Cisco Identity Service Engine (Cisco ISE)
  • Microsoft Azure Based Networking
  • Cisco Networking Services (Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Wifi)
  • Cisco Unified Communications
  • Cisco Defence Orchestrator
