We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client, an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Engineer will be site based and will play a key role in improving site operations, both in terms of maintenance coordination, H&S compliance, and site-based projects to improve product flow. The engineer will support in the design and reconfiguration of the plant layout to maximise space utilisation, improve material flow, and reduce waste. The individual will be proactive and enthusiastic about tackling a range of projects designed to improve the operational capabilities of the site. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to successfully implement changes that lead to sustainable improvements in productivity and cost reduction.

The successful candidate will preferably be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, have theoretical and practical engineering experience, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, have an eagerness to learn, possess excellent team working skills and the ability to achieve within tight deadlines is crucial.

Applicants will have a good understanding of technical processes and procedures, as well as a high level of engineering knowledge.

Candidates will be expected to ensure continuous improvement of Engineering processes and Engineering procedures, whilst working within relevant external and Company standards.

Other requirements include

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of working within a Process Improvement role

The ability to interpret and provide Engineering instructions & drawings.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrate methodical approach with accuracy & attention to detail for all projects undertaken.

Experience in Engineering planning, Project Engineering, Continuous improvement & Lean.

High level of IT literacy & experience in CAD software, eg. AutoCAD / Fusion 360 preferred

Capable of working to planned & agreed schedules and timescales.

Must be self-motivated, and capable of working within a group or individually.
