Asset Accountant - Milton Keynes
Dawsongroup plcis a national provider of commercial vehicle rental and contract hire solutions, operating from a network of strategically positioned depots across the UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for anAsset Accountantat our Milton Keynes operation. The successful candidate willbe responsible for the management & control of Dawsongroup truck & trailer limited asset financial records, as well asdeveloping an understanding of the whole fixed lifecycle.
This role will keep you on your toes and has a lot of elements to it. Here is a flavour of what youll be doing day to day:
- Managing the fixed assets system
- Calculating capital accruals
- Producing invoices and relevant accounting entries
- Suggesting process improvements
- Taking ownership of the Road Fund Licence, including accruals & PP and reconciliation
- Managing end of year provision
- Monitoring assets not rented un-utilised asset aging
- Creating the businesses management accounts
- Reporting on value add KPI
What we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
- Experience working in a finance team
- Experience with posting journals essential
- Experience dealing with asset accounting would be desirable
- Part qualified preferable ACCA/CIMA
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle large data sets
- Understanding of double entry
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ownership of the role
- Ability to communicate with senior people within the business
