About the RoleWe are working with a well-established and rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Milton Keynes who are looking for a proactive and technically skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their dynamic support team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors, supporting cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line technical support to a broad client base across Microsoft and cloud-based environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues escalated from 1st line.
  • Monitor and maintain client systems using RMM tools, ensuring performance and uptime.
  • Escalate complex issues to 3rd line where necessary, providing detailed documentation and diagnostics.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining clear communication with clients throughout issue resolution.
  • Participate in project work, including infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in the ticketing system and create/update technical documentation.

Technical Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a 2nd line support role within an MSP environment (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
    • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Teams
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
    • Azure/Azure AD (basic to intermediate level)
    • Networking fundamentals - VLANs, firewalls, VPNs
    • Remote desktop services and virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Experience with RMM tools and professional service automation (PSA) systems.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL) are advantageous.
