Senior Lighting Assembly Operative

Location: Mitcham

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Mon – Fri 08:00 – 16:00

Job Description:

Position Overview: They are seeking a skilled and experienced Lighting Assembly Operative to join their esteemed team. This role involves not only hands-on assembly and wiring of our exquisite lighting fixtures but also supervisory responsibilities to ensure that our high standards of quality and craftsmanship are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lighting Assembly & Wiring:
    • Assemble and wire high-end lighting fixtures, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any wiring issues, ensuring all products meet quality and functionality specifications.
  • Supervisory Duties:
    • Oversee a small team of assembly operatives, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain efficient workflow and high-quality output.
    • Coordinate daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team adherence to project timelines and company standards.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct rigorous inspections of completed assemblies to verify the quality and craftsmanship.
    • Implement quality control processes and provide feedback to the team to continually improve assembly techniques and outcomes.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the design and production teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
    • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Inventory & Maintenance:
    • Manage inventory levels of assembly components, tools, and materials, ensuring availability and timely replenishment.
    • Maintain assembly tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in lighting assembly and wiring, preferably within the luxury or high-end market.
  • Previous supervisory experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
  • A proactive approach and a passion for craftsmanship and design.
