We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to lead our Music Department starting September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact in one of our South London schools.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead, manage, and develop the Music subject area, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement within the department.
- Develop and maintain a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum that aligns with the school’s aims and curricular policies.
- Teach Music across a range of ages and abilities, inspiring a love for the subject.
- Manage departmental resources effectively, including staff, finances, and physical assets.
- Support the school’s mission to provide opportunities for personal and academic growth for all students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong track record in Music education.
- Experience in a leadership role within an educational setting, preferably as a Head of Department.
- Proven ability to raise standards and student attainment in Music.
- Excellent knowledge of the current curriculum and pedagogical approaches in Music education.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a collaborative approach to learning.
