gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a HSE Manager to work at their facility based near Mold

Performance Objectives

  • To determine, drive and lead the implementation of the site HSE plan and Group reporting activities.
  • To manage the Health Safety and Environment activities for the site, ensuring that Health Safety procedures, policies and systems are adhered too.
  • To plan the introduction and implementation of appropriate HSE Policies and Procedures and associated systems, in conjunction with the group standards.
  • Lead Health & Safety activities for the site and providing direction for all the Health & Safety activities.
  • Responsible for developing the annual HSE plan for the site, obtaining approval and support from Plant Management and reporting on progress.
  • Manage the Risk Assessment and SSOW activities, maintain up to date data and reports to Plant Management and progress against plan.
  • Coaching and training employees on HSE issues, systems, SSOW, Risk Assessments etc.
  • Review all HSE reports promptly to determine where emphasis should be placed to prevent incident recurrence. Support teams in the business to improve understanding and compliance.
  • Organise and chair monthly Health & Safety meetings at site.
  • Represent the site at regular - Group Health & Safety Meetings and is the main point of contact with external Health & Safety and Environmental authorities.
  • Manage the EMS and appropriate Systems Procedures and processes to ensure the Company maintains compliance with ISO 14001

Person Specification

  • Ideally NEBOSH or appropriate Safety qualification.
  • Good working knowledge of Manufacturing Operations.
  • Have excellent Communication Skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Policies/Procedures/ Regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of Operator Training.
  • Computer literate.
  • Complexity and creativity required in presenting HSE Information.
  • Complexity and creativity in ensuring the Company attends to policy and procedures.
  • Have the mindset to successfully challenge and develop new methods of working to further improve HSE standards.
  • Judgements required likely to revolve around how to analyse and present information in the most appropriate or advantageous manner.
  • The job holder must be able to judge customer and Health & Safety requirements, and be able to recommend actions to management where appropriate.
  • Self-prioritising to be a key issue.
  • The job holder must also be able to demonstrate the ability to judge situations and take the necessary action to implement change.
