Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client is looking to bring in a Senior Quantity Surveyor into their office in Whitehaven. This role offers the opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established team focused on projects at the forefront of the infrastructure sector.

What they're looking for:

  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Individuals with exposure to procurement & strategic advice.
  • Experienced with commercial roles and functions for large capital programmes.
  • Preferably experienced in UK complex infrastructure sector clients.
  • Prior experience of working within a UK construction consultancy is essential.

What the role involves:

  • Develop and implement methodologies for cost planning and estimation across different stages of projects within the nuclear sector. This involves understanding project requirements, analysing historical data, and considering industry benchmarks to produce accurate estimates.
  • Regularly produce estimates for projects at various stages of development and conduct budget reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Collect relevant data from various sources, including project teams, vendors, and industry reports. Analyse this data to identify trends, cost drivers, and areas for improvement.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment between project objectives and cost-planning efforts.
  • Generate analysis and benchmarking reports that highlight value for money and identify key trends within the nuclear sector. Use this information to drive decision-making and improve cost-planning strategies.
  • Lead or support the development of tools and dashboards that streamline the analysis and reporting process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and develop ideas for continuous improvement. Leverage expertise from different departments to enhance cost-planning practices.
