Reed Education is seeking a dynamic History Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster on a full-time, long-term basis starting immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, with KS5 being an advantage.
  • Creating a stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and engagement.
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
  • Assessing and recording students’ progress and providing feedback.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a good learning environment.
  • Being a positive role model for students, demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and participating in school events and activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience of teaching History at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and interested in working with students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
